A Lost Oracle, Recovered !

For centuries, the Seni Oracle was hidden in dusty archives, known only to scholars of astrology and history. Created in the 1600s by Giovanni Battista Seni, court astrologer to Albrecht von Wallenstein, it was a system of 72 symbolic images designed to unlock hidden truths.

Unlike Tarot, which grew into countless variations, the Seni Oracle remained frozen in time — a complete system preserved almost untouched. Its symbols reflect the cosmic worldview of the Renaissance: destiny shaped by stars, cycles, and choices.

Now, for the first time in modern history, the Seni Oracle is being restored for today’s seeker. With its original imagery, layered meanings, and authentic historical roots, it offers a fresh yet ancient way of seeing the patterns in your life.

The Seni Cards A Historical Thriller

A novel inspired by the real 17th-century Oracle.

The story of the Seni Oracle doesn’t end in the 1600s. It weaves through war, secret societies, and forgotten libraries — finally resurfacing in modern times.

I’m capturing this journey in my upcoming historical thriller, The Seni Cards. Blending fact and fiction, it follows the hidden deck through centuries of intrigue, betrayal, and rediscovery — until it re-emerges in the present day.

Who This Is For

The Seni Oracle is designed for curious minds who want more than a fortune cookie prediction. It’s for:

  • Seekers of Meaning – If you’ve ever wondered about the bigger picture of your life, these cards help uncover hidden threads.

  • Story Lovers – Each reading is a narrative, not a list of keywords. You’ll walk away with a story that feels personal and alive.

  • Modern Mystics – Perfect if you love the mystery of Tarot but crave something rarer, older, and more surprising.

  • Explorers & Skeptics – Whether you believe in destiny or just enjoy seeing new perspectives, the Seni Oracle sparks conversation and reflection.

This isn’t about memorizing symbols or playing a role.
It’s about having a tool that makes every reading authentic, memorable, and your own.

Why the Seni Oracle is Different

More than a fortune-telling deck, the Seni Oracle is a historical system of symbols — rooted in astrology, rediscovered from rare 17th–19th century sources, and unlike Tarot in both structure and origin.

While many are familiar with Tarot, the Seni Oracle occupies a distinct and historically significant place in the tradition of divinatory systems.

  • Documented Origins – Conceived in the 17th century by Giovanni Battista Seni, court astrologer to Wallenstein during the Thirty Years’ War, the system reflects the intellectual and cultural climate of early modern Europe.

  • Unique Structure – Comprising 36 cards with 72 rotating images, the design allows each symbol to hold multiple interpretive possibilities — a feature without parallel in Tarot.

  • Astrological Foundations – The cards were originally aligned with constellations, planets, and celestial phenomena, situating them firmly within Renaissance and early Baroque cosmology.

  • Rediscovery and Reconstruction – After centuries of obscurity, the Seni Oracle has been reassembled through the careful study of rare manuscripts and 19th-century editions, now presented in a form that honors both its history and its interpretive depth.

The Seni Oracle is therefore not merely an alternative to Tarot, but a window into a forgotten current of European esoteric thought, offering a layered, historically grounded mode of interpretation.

👉 The result: a reading experience that is unique, memorable, and unlike any deck you’ve ever seen.

Meet the Seni Oracle

The Seni Oracle is not a modern invention — it is a reconstruction of a forgotten European divination system.

Originally developed in the 17th century, its symbols were preserved through rare 19th-century publications before vanishing from common use.

What makes it remarkable:
  • 72 Rotating Images – Each card holds four symbolic images, revealed as the card is turned. This creates a dynamic system of interpretation unlike the fixed imagery of Tarot.

  • Celestial Foundations – The imagery is deeply rooted in astrology, drawing from constellations, planets, and celestial phenomena that guided both scientific and mystical thought in Seni’s time.

  • Layers of Meaning – Every image can be read literally, symbolically, or astrologically, allowing readings to adapt to both everyday concerns and deeper spiritual questions.

  • Historic Legacy – The Seni Oracle connects modern seekers with a lineage of Renaissance and Baroque cosmology, bridging history, art, and divination.

This is more than a deck of cards — it is an invitation to explore a worldview where the heavens shaped human destiny and symbols carried the weight of centuries of tradition.

A Glimpse Into the Seni Oracle

Each card of the Seni Oracle carries four distinct images, revealed as the card is rotated. This makes every card a small universe of possibility.

Here are a few examples from the restored system:

  • The Sun – Illumination, clarity, the triumph of truth.

  • The Moon – Mystery, dreams, shifting perspectives.

  • The Great Bear (Ursa Major) – Guidance, ancestral strength, finding one’s direction.

  • The Serpent (Hydra) – Hidden challenges, temptation, resilience.

Unlike Tarot, where images remain fixed, the Seni Oracle invites you to interact physically with the cards, turning them to uncover new symbols and new layers of meaning.

✨ Each rotation unlocks another facet of destiny.

  • Tarot

  • Structure: 78 cards divided into Major and Minor Arcana

  • Seni Oracle

  • Structure: 36 cards, each holding 4 symbolic images (72 in total)

  • Origins: Created in the early 1600s by Giovanni Battista Seni, court astrologer to Wallenstein

  • Symbols: Stars, constellations, zodiac signs, and celestial motifs — a cosmic rather than allegorical language

  • Interpretation: Reads like a sky chart brought down to earth, blending destiny, fortune, and cosmic alignment

Why It Matters

Where Tarot often speaks to the inner journey of the self, the Seni Oracle looks outward and upward — situating the seeker within the larger movements of fate, history, and the heavens.

About Kim

Kim Wehner spent his career as an analytical chemist, searching for hidden truths in labs ranging from environmental research to forensics. After retirement, he turned to a very different kind of mystery: a rare set of Seni fortune-telling cards passed down from his grandmother. She had begun translating their original 19th-century manual but never finished.

Kim picked up where she left off, combining his scientific curiosity with a deep respect for history and symbolism. Today, he’s bringing the Seni Cards back to light—not just as artifacts, but as living tools for reflection, storytelling, and wonder.
